It's a New Year, and if anyone reading this is much like me, you are looking to change things up a bit in your closet. For this segment, I am sharing some of my favorite brands and a few that i found on Instagram. Firstly, i was a bit flummoxed on how to bring this piece together. I have been a firm believer in sustainability and protecting our planet. Still, i also understand how price points of environmentally friendly products can, unfortunately, sway consumers to give their money to fast fashion brands. It takes a lot to put into eco-friendly clothing, hence the price points that certain brands place on their products. However, I always encourage people to buy things you absolutely love, and in that case, it will make sense to spend a couple $$$ on a pair of denim or any piece of clothing. Gives your wardrobe much-needed space when you buy smart, also helps you spend less over time.

For more information on sustainable wear and its importance, read this link. In the meantime, check out my personal picks from these fantastic brands.

Eco-friendly watch

Belleville.

This watch by @laps-edition is by far one of my favorite picks for this segment. It’s Aesthetically pleasing, and i love the straps of the watch. Green is my favorite color for every season; however, they offer a wide range of braided perlon bracelets 100% vegan, which provides a lighter alternative, easily adaptable, and several decades. They have different faces for the watch as well, i love the Parisian neighborhoods another reason i this is my favorite pick from their collection.

PACKBAG: CROSSBODY LIGHT

Repair, Rethink, Reassemble circular bags for longevity. This is my favorite pick from @Pack_bags. I value the lightweight countenance of this bag, and it’s just the right size to carry a few small necessities. They also offer a variety of strap colors and bags for their Circular collection.

“In Circular Design, everything revolves around refurbishing, reusing, and recycling a product instead of putting an end to its life cycle. When combined with modular design aspects, parts can separately be used again in the manufacturing process. Because of this, your PACKBAGS item's lifecycle does not stop when you stop wearing it. Instead, your bag will contribute to the creation of something new in a sustainable way!” - PACKBAGS.

BRUT CLOTHING

I adore @brut_archives so much that i have many favorite picks. Brut is a Parisian vintage store that ships worldwide. i have shopped from Brut a few times, and i was not disappointed by the shipment and the products. If you're into vintage trousers, liner jackets, and sweatshirts, this is one of the many shops you will want to spend money at.

“Our archives for fashion and costume designer is a resource to create clothes inspired by vintage rare design.” - Brut

REWORK DENIM

SASHIKO DENIM

"REPAIR, DON'T REPLACE." In some instances, you may not be looking to get something new but to repair some denim. Hand stitch denim repair has always looked great when it's exemplary. For example, I came across @sashikodenim, the technique used to repair denim looks clean, and it's one of one that makes your clothing your personal art piece.

“ My main motivation behind creating these pieces of denim art is to take action against today’s fast cycle of ‘use turn waste’.” - SASHIKODENIM

If you’re also looking to donate items from your closet, always check your local listing for women/men donation centers helping homeless people get clothed. Also, vintage stores are always looking to buy products to resell. You can also resell your own items by creating a Depop account or website. Also really cool to swap items with other like-minded individuals.
