Designer Ev Bessar debuted her Fall/Winter 2016 collection during New York Fashion Week this past Thursday at Gotham Hall, a division of Style Fashion Week. Bessar delivered a rawness that captured the attention of viewers from the moment the first model stepped out.
A runway lined in torn black bird feathers complimented the edginess of the models slow and cryptic movements. The clothing spoke for itself, displaying Bessar’s innovative knit and leather combinations and exquisitely sourced furs. The collection overall speaks to the new era of “dark fashion”, while displaying hand-made quality and intricate attention to detail. The uniqueness of each piece is not only in the material, but in the hand-made approach of her craftsmanship.
Bessar’s complete originality was shown for the first time to a crowd of over 700 media reps, high fashion editors, stylists, tastemakers, and fashion influencers all of whom raved about the overall display of concept and utter edginess that symbolizes the Ev Bessar brand. Labeled as one of New York’s top up and coming designers and most recently reviewed by the New York Times as one of the top “On The Rise at NYFW”, Ev Bessar is currently on the industry’s radar.
